As I have been trying to learn more about energy production and economics I came across this article which I think does a good job of putting some concepts and terms into simple language that is more understandable than some academic material is. I have found the definition of Energy Return on Energy Invested (EROEI) to be particularly useful in helping me to evaluate different generation options.
